Nagtahan Flyover Urban Artscape
Rising majestically beneath the Nagtahan flyovers are gigantic works of art. Driving by, you can't help but look up to these once-drab columns and just feast on the colors. LRT2 commuters are also given a good vantage, a glimpse of local art now becomes part of their daily commute.
A project of The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in cooperation with Metro Manila Development Authority MMDA, Universal Paints and Pinoy na Pinoy Visual Artists Inc. (PPVAAI) two Pillars with the height of 6.5 m X 26ft circumference were painted by PPVAAI artists and friends showcasing "Si Malakas at Si Maganda" and "Mutya ng Pasig".
Along with 4 more artists group who braved the height of these pillars up to 20ft high were Talas, Guerilla, TUP and The UP Artists Circle, the urban artscape educates the masses with our history, folklore, culture and arts.
